Science, Love & EFT with Dawson Church

Dawson Church presented this workshop for EFT Events in 2009.  He gave an eloquent explanation of the science that he believes explains the phenomenon of EFT.  This is what he is good at.  Dawson has since taken over the emofree.com website and has started teaching EFT training workshops.  This is what he is not good at.

Science, Love and EFT

The first day of this two day workshop has an emphasis on understanding and learning from the new science of intention and emotional health.  Dawson presents the science of emotion from gene studies, epigenetics, endocrinology, electromagnetism, and neurology.  Throughout the day he will refer to the latest studies into the effectiveness of EFT.

Dawson applies the insights of the new field of Epigenetics (epi=above, i.e. control above the level of the gene) to medicine and healing. Citing hundreds of scientific studies, he shows how beliefs and emotions can trigger the expression of DNA strands. Some genes turn on within a few seconds of a stimulus and can be triggered by thoughts, memories or emotions: these can be regulatory genes which turn on other genes that affect specific aspects of our immune system, such as the production of white blood cells that destroy attacking bacteria and viruses.  Epigenetics thus influences our health every day.

Best of all Dawson demonstrates that, by taking control of our consciousness and using it to influence our genetic expression, we can sometimes bypass years of therapy, as well as harmful drugs and invasive surgeries. Iin effect, doing continuous genetic engineering on our own bodies. This can produce both immediate relief from long-standing anxieties and neuroses, as well as "miraculous" healing of persistent physical conditions, especially autoimmune diseases.

Informed by this knowledge the second day applies practical tools from energy psychology, particularly EFT, to improving and enjoying our loving human relationships.

1. Psychology is Physiology

As our emotions shift, moment by moment, they drive profound biological shifts in our bodies. This session reviews the science that shows how dramatically our thoughts and feelings affect our health, our DNA and how EFT can move the balance in our favour.

2. What Stress Looks Like Inside Your Body

When we are stressed, our bodies shift our biological resources into survival, and away from cell repair. There are external and internal signs of how stressed we are.  We learn how to read these signals, and demonstrate how different a person's stress signs are after a thorough and effective EFT session.

3.  Childhood Trauma, War Veterans, Pain, and Other Big Stressors

In this session, we do group EFT on your childhood traumas, identifying the blocks that have been holding you back, and dissolving the emotional energy that keeps them in place.

4. How do I explain EFT to my doctor?

EFT affects entire body systems, like the digestive system, the reproductive system, and the immune system. This session presents some of the key concepts from the exciting new scientific fields of epigenetics and psychoneuroimmunology to show that EFT has a sound medical explanation for its mechanisms of action.
