Judy Byrne has a private practice in London where she sees clients with a wide range of problems and specializes in working through major trauma and helping people who want to transform their lives. She offers low-cost sessions for victims of war trauma. Judy trained in integrative psychotherapy and Ericksonian hypnosis, NLP and EMDR. Her obsession during her 20 years as a therapist has been to find trauma therapy techniques that do not risk retraumatizing clients which led her first to EMDR and then to EFT.
Judy is equally passionate about getting the EFT word out to a wider world. She has presented and run workshops in Australia and on the Continent as well as in the UK. She ran the third EFT Masterclass in London on her own and the fifth, also in London, jointly with Sue Beer and Emma Roberts. She puts on highly-praised training workshops in Central London. And – to get the word out even more widely – has just launched a free EFT app for iPhone and (touch)Pod. Get it Free Here

Even Though That Happened
In her presentation Judy will be sharing new dimensions of her understanding of how to work with what has happened to us in the past, whether at the level of “everyday” trauma or major traumatizing events. It will take a stage further her presentation on trauma at the 2009 Masterclass in Manchester. ( Available on DVD with accompanying handout from www.judybyrne.co.uk )
In particular Judy will be looking at how new understandings from neuroscience can inform how we tap and what we might want to tap on in trauma. These insights can increase our sensitivity to sensorimotor signals from clients that direct us to do energy work more elegantly and relevantly.
Sue says about Judy:
Judy, Emma and I have been bonded forever in the unique experience of putting on the EFT Masterclass 2010 in London together. It’s tempting to say that you don’t know someone until you have organised a Masterclass with them! Judy emerged from the experience with her dignity, humour and credibility very much intact.
We are so lucky to have Judy as part of the EFTworld! She is an amazing therapist, teacher, writer and speaker with something for everyone to learn from her. I am lucky to have her as a friend. These words from the ‘The Nature of Personal Reality’ by Jane Roberts speak for Judy:
“When you affirm your own rightness in the universe, then you cooperate with others easily and automatically as part of your own nature. You, being yourself, help others be themselves. Because you recognise your own uniqueness you will not need to dominate others, nor cringe before them”. Emma Roberts says about Judy:
Judy’s wisdom and experience shine through in any encounter with her. I have always had enormous respect for her groundedness and her ability to stay calm whatever storms may be raging around her! She is a thorough and efficient event organizer and can be relied upon to think of every last detail – something I was very grateful for during the run up to the 2010 Masterclass!
The expression ‘Still waters run deep’ describes Judy to a tee. She is a listener in the true therapeutic sense of the word. Her quiet wisdom and compassion are always present whether with friends, colleagues or clients.
She is also a wonderful presenter. I remember being the assistant during her trauma presentation at the Manchester Masterclass and finding it very hard to focus on the job in hand as I was so engaged in her very powerful presentation. Likewise at the 2010 Masterclass when the tiny Judy was on the enormous stage and her energy held the entire audience captivated as she discussed forgiveness. She seemed to be the essence of her talk as she shared her thoughts with us. It was very beautiful and an honour to be there.
Jaqui says about Judy:
Judy is amazing. So calm, so grounded, so clear and with that lovely Aussie sense of humour! If I want completely non judgemental acceptance and support of who I am, right in the minute, warts, mess and all, Judy is who I go to. She is completely trustworthy and holds a very safe space for her clients. Clarity, acceptance and support, what more could you ask. And she can do an end of conference presentation that can keep people awake, interested and laughing, even after a weekend of high emotional drama! A talented and perceptive lady.
Ann says about Judy
Judy has an amazing ability to “balance” or “see” clearly when it is needed. She is funny and light hearted and always sees the good in everybody. Her organizational skills are second to none and if you want any information, Judy delights in finding it and exploring new possibilities or new outcomes! She is very refreshing and easy to be around, very clear, very grounded. She is also unafraid to make decisions. She is a very skilled therapist and Trainer and does amazing work with trauma. She is well known for the safety that she creates when she teaches students how to work with trauma.
As a presenter she is relaxed, clear and precise and is an engaging teacher. She is able to make complicated things appear simple, and easy to learn. It’s always a joy to be in Judy’s presence.
Gwyneth says about Judy:
Judy has a quality of calm precision. I can imagine how this quality together with her background in psychology and trauma treatments can make her so thorough in helping her clients to get truely clear of the past and to rebuild lives worth living. Judy is very clear as a teacher and her training courses in central London have a richly deserved reputation. To our group she brings an eye for detail (if there are typos in this site she will spot them) and keeps us on track with whatever is our lastest project together. Judy, Sue and Emma did an excellent job with Masterclass 2010 in London and we are looking forward to Masterclass 2011 together.
Tania says about Judy:
I have known Judy for many years now. I think she is a lovely minded person who I have great respect for and that respect has grown through time. I also think she is an excellent EFT’er who has a great knowledge that spans further than EFT.
